About this deal

She looked incredibly cute, was very though, but became all girly and fiddly when her crush was around! I always start out with a paper prototype and if that prototype works out well, I make patterns from them.

Definitely looking forward to seeing your Lilith progress too Seriously, industry-professionals having a Youtube channel that they use to show how they make their amazing stuff are the best! I’ve considered writing up a glove tutorial eventually since I wanted to toss one together for Sora’s (since a tutorial for that is non-existent) XD I’ve come across a few here and there. After being happy with the shape and a lot of sanding, I started measuring out where all the details were going to be.

Chi-Chi's hairstyle is a variation of a hime-cut, which I already cut multiple times, but I wanted to make this one a bit more special. Considering the quite special sized and detailed gloves Chi-Chi has, this was no option this time and I had to make them fully myself.

Because of the (quite unexpected, to be honest) positive reactions I got on my previous cosplay project blog blog/20041 , I decided to also make a blog about my Chi-Chi costume project! View spoiler Hide spoiler Sorry for the blurry picture of the shoulderplates, but with work-in-progress if my pictures turn out bad, I can never re-make them because I'm already at the next step! To make sure the boots would keep their shape, I made a foam base and covered this foam base with fabric. I got both positive and negative reactions on my color choice, but I think it looks very 80's, so I like it!

The best way to fix this mess was filling everything up that I damaged, re-sand it and repaint a lot of parts over again. I remember struggling so much with it, while it's actually a joke compared to a lot of other costumes I've made. I always think it's funny how parts look burned so quickly, but nothing of that will be visible after undercoating and painting!Making the details for the chest plate made me sweat and curse quite a lot, because it was so small and fragile!

View spoiler Hide spoiler You can see some leftovers on the cardboard for my earlier painted Smileys masks www. Even though I didn't like the fit around my fingers, I was quite content with how I made the outer shape (I used a likewise method as how I made the boots covers). In general I don't make much pictures of that process, as it's incredibly boring to do and to watch people do! On the other hand a few things on stage went bad, so I think I'm not that sad about it, as I would prefer not to see it back as I don't feel very comfortable about it. I sometimes wear my helmet or other parts seperately at lazy days on conventions, just because I like how they turned out.Luckily everything went quite well, but I think it was also one of the reasons why I screwed up during the act. But hey, it was my first time I made a helmet, so I just brushed it off and started working on a version 2 from the things I've learned! People weren't necessarily impressed with the costume or act, but they said it was really nice to see an "old" design character, considering most cosplay competitions here nowadays are filled with people in big fantasy armors in likewise styles (not that there is anything wrong with that, but you see a lot of likewise outfits in a competition over here).
