About this deal

As she awaits enrollment, she already had been given a taste on what the school was like, and it was quite a sour one. She encounters a Library doorway, which she would never had guessed to be a portal into Medora, and her adventurous side overthrows her cautiousness as she steps inside, deeming to be a mistake; or maybe the best thing to ever happen to her. Lynette Noni is a marvellous and inventive storyteller, whose books are absolutely impossible to put down. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!” — Sarah J. Maas, #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses series

This is a world of high tech wormhole-like travel, Star Trek-like food replicators, interactive movies and such. What is the purpose of the school? What do they do once they finish? The subject taught are very... old-school and specific. I cannot see how they contribute to their advanced world. I rated this book five out of five, and have no need to change it. I recommend this series to all YA fantasy lovers. If you are not sure if you should read it, don’t judge your opinion on the blurb. This book met my expectations and above. If you enjoyed the Harry Potter series, then this series is definitely for you, as it carries similar concepts but with an older and female protagonist.

International orders

Then, during Scars and Silence (Jordan's story), Alex arrives to the Combat (that she shares with Kaiden) classes early, because she is looking for him, and he hadn't attended the past lessons. Alex's strengths are "Determination is the face of adversity" and her biggest weakness is "(she) can struggle with bouts of hopelessness."

Jarvis then gives her a Potential Pop in which she finds out that she is in the following for the subjects. Jarvis's office is the first building in Akarnae Alex ever entered. It is run by Jarvis. This is where most students go if there are problems or other needs. It is mentioned that Jarvis' office is open 24/7 but not many students go after curfew unless it is an emergency. I miss the library! It was such am amazing concept and it had so much potential, but in this book it is just a convenient way for Alex and her posse to get to places she could not get to otherwise. Like Raelia/fairyland or Meya. Sulk. This book was almost a high school orgy fest. There is already the premise story line of a war literally on the verge of starting, yet we need to add these teenagers needy for love and affection in there as well?

The series stars Alexandra Jennings, a teenage girl that has to save the Medorans from different enemies that try to render them extinct. Alex has enhanced immortal blood, and the powers she gains from this, she has to learn how to control. She got this after being claimed by a disowned former prince of Meya named Aven. She also attends Akarnae Academy, a school she begins attending by mistake, but winds up fitting in.

There were so many revelations throughout this book, whether its Aven wanting to unleash his fury on Alex and those closest to her (by the end my feelings were a puddle, truly, I did not see the betrayal coming, it just hurt!), but also where there is fear and hurt I know there’s hope, so I definitely am hopeful for a turn around with what one character is now going through! Also though at the same time, I’m kind of looking forward to the darker scenes? Purely though because I’m hopeful that Aven’s deciets and ploys will fail?! Either way, I couldn’t BE more excited to continue my adventure in book 3! At no point does Alex question ANYTHING about the world she's stumbled into. And she never has any issues in terms of language or academics or even really more than one or two moments of "whoa, cool" As Alex's second year at Arkanae begins things don't go as planned. Somehow she winds up taking part in the trial to enter the mysterious Hunter's Stealth and Subterfuge class, and what is even more crazy is that she passes doing what no other student has ever been able to - complete the trial. My first qualm is with the writing. It is very juvenile and Alex's narration sounds more like a twelve year old's than a sixteen year old's. The portion of the book I completed in fact read much more like middle grade then young adult fiction. Don't get me wrong, middle grade fiction is great, but since this was marketed as young adult fiction I expected a more mature narrator. Additionally, the middle grade feel just didn't mesh well with a protagonist who is already sixteen at the start of her series. The bestselling “Medoran Chronicles” series is written by author Lynette Noni, and is a young adult fantasy series. The series began publication in the year 2015, when “Akarnae” (pronounced uh-car-neigh) was released. When day and night combine and fight against one enemy then dark and light shall meet mid-strike and set the captives free

In Akarnae, we first see Alexandra Jennings and her parents on there way to her new school, the International Exchange Academy where she was to spend her school year while her parents were in Siberia on and archaeological project. Alex doesn't feel excited about this prospect and tries to convince her parents otherwise. The characters are again a bit light on and one dimensional early on but they do grow and evolve as the book progresses. Alex is the main one but the support characters are quite good as are some of the teachers. DC though was my favourite though and was full of sass and sarcasm which worked really well. This concludes my nonsensical babbling inspired by my love of this series which is only growing stronger with re-reads. For sense, please read my original review, below. There also so many other amazing characters in this series that make it worth reading from when you start the book right up until the end of the book. The stealth and Subterfuge class made up of Kaiden, Blink, Pipsqueak, Skyla Fay and Tom Barrett all of these characters were all amazing and added something to the story in there own right. It was good to see Kaiden return in this one and i'm surprised to see the relationship forming between Alex and himself because i honestly don't see anything myself and i do see something more between Alex and Jordan. I did miss one character in this installment but it was compensated by tons of other characters’ development and hopefully things will balance out in the sequel.
